Chiropractor during pregnancy...

First of all I'd like to apologize for my recent hiatus from blogging. My third trimester got real fast, real quick about two weeks ago and it's definitely taking a toll on me. Hopefully I'll at least get a few more posts in before baby Eli makes his debut, but not making any promises! Ha!

I wanted to share about my experience with seeing a Chiropractor during my pregnancy. I've gotten a lot of questions and weird looks from people when I tell them that I've been going to a Chiropractor since my 30th week of pregnancy.

As soon as I hit my third trimester I started having major lower back and hip pain, to the point where it was hard for me to even get out of bed in the mornings. I knew that I couldn't hobble around for the next 10/11 weeks so I took to Google to look for a solution. After some major research and asking other mothers about it, I decided to give a Chiropractor a try. Note that I had never been to a chiropractor in my life!

After my first visit, I was in even more pain than before I went which scared me to death! The doctor assured me that this was normal, especially since I had never been before. So I took his advice and kept going back.

Now, at almost 38 weeks pregnant I can say that my lower back and hip pain has majorly decreased!! Of course I still have some discomfort when I walk for long periods of time or bend over a lot but that's because I have a 7 lb baby pulling on my lower back..hello!

Even though I have heard the good, the bad, and the ugly about Chiropractors I can honestly say that I have had nothing short of a great experience with mine! :)

Thanks Lakeway Chiropractic for all you do! You guys are awesome!

  1. I can only imagine all the pain and frustrations you’ve been going through during your pregnancy. But it’s good to know that your chiropractor was able to help you out with that problem. Even though it was a bit painful at first, it still helped a lot in the end. Thanks for sharing this with us, Leah. All the best!

  3. In both of my pregnancies, I also encountered a great deal of lower back pain. I did not visit the chiropractor, but after reading this, I feel I really missed on a great way to ease my discomfort. I will let my sister know about a chiropractor during pregnancy. She is having a hard time with back pain. I originally told her to tough it out, but she will be excited to know that there are other options.
